What are intravenous infusions?

Intravenous infusions are Solutions containing water of the highest quality, purity and sterility, to which has been added specific additives such as sugar, saline, medication, etc to make up various formulated Solutions for medicinal purposes. Intravenous infusions are also known as intravenous drips, intravenous Solutions or IV's, or LVPS which are the initials for Large Parental Volume Solutions.

What are intravenous infusions used for?

Intravenous infusions are used in hospitals and clinics worldwide to provide patients with a constant source of fluids, medication or nutrition intravenously. In most westernized countries intravenous Solutions are applied as the first course of action on people injured in accidents or people who arrive ill in hospital.

The plant will include the equipment to produce the WFI, the laboratory, the additive mixing facility, the bottling/bagging plant, all within a building to be provided in compliance with our specification, complete with auxiliary facilities and utilities. Potential Location

Plants to produce intravenous Solutions would be established in such countries where intravenous Solutions are at present not being produced, or where the existing facilities are inadequate. Advancing technology and improved health expectations result in an ever-increasing demand for such facilities in developing countries such as in Eastern Europe , Asia , Africa and South America .

The Technology

The technology involves a fully computerized system for the production of purified water, solution preparation, filling, sterilization, packaging and storage, all within a controlled clean atmosphere.

Plant Capacity

Initially the plant will be designed to have an annual production of eight million 500ml bags. Provision will be made for expansion. Also, for a small additional outlay, the plant can be expanded to produce dialysis Solutions.

Validation and FDA Certification

Our provision includes the supply of all validation documentation and the execution of quality checks that meet the European and American stringent standards, such as FDA and MCA. We will train the investor's personnel in the running of the plant in a manner that will maintain these highest standards.

Maintaining Standards

Our proposal includes a Maintenance and Quality Assurance Policy whereby we will provide periodic maintenance and quality checks on the plant for a fixed fee escalated annually.

Future Demand

The use of infusion Solutions is growing worldwide exponentially. Also a broader market can be addressed by supplying a larger array of infusion Solutions, such as specialty and compound Solutions, which attract far higher profit margins.
